Hassan Ahmed is a Ghanaian diplomat. He is a member of the New Patriotic Party and served as Ghana's ambassador to Iran, Cuba, Japan, etc. He is also the current Director of Protocol for Nana Akufo-Addo, President of Ghana.
He holds a Masters's Degree from the Georgetown School of Foreign Service and has been a diplomat all his life.
Hassan Ahmed worked at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ghana for 34. He was appointed Deputy Chief of Ghana's diplomatic mission in Japan.
During Akuffo-Addo's tenure of office as Minister of Foreign Affairs under the John Agyekum Kufuor, he was the Chief of Protocol at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. He was posted to the Islamic Republic of Iran.
He took up an international appointment in 2013 with the United Nations after retiring from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The position was with the United Nations-African Union Hybrid Operation in Darfur, Khartoum, Sudan, where he was appointed the Head of Office.
He resigned from the United Nations after he was appointed Head of Protocol at The Flagstaff House by Nana Akuffo-Addo. Ahmed's job description includes arranging all schedules of visits by the President as well as welcoming dignitaries to the presidency.
He accompanies the president on his overseas and internationsl trips as well.
Hassan Ahmed is a Muslim and is married to Hajjia Ahmed with whom he has four children.
