John Bogolo Erzuah was a Ghanaian politician, teacher, and diplomat who represented Ghana in various foreign missions from 1957 to 1966. He was a minister of state in 1956.

He was born in 1914 in Takinta, in the Western Region of Ghana. He is a product of the Western Region of Ghana where he trained as a teacher. After he graduated, he joined the teaching staff and later became headmaster of Ghana College, Esiama, Western region.

Career

John Bogolo Erzuah was elected a member of the Legislative Assembly for Ankobra in 1951, that same year, he was appointed ministerial secretary to the ministry of education. He was chairman of the Erzuah committee that was established to review the salaries and service conditions of nongovernment teachers.

He was a member of the Ghana delegates in the African Education Conference held at Cambridge in 1952 and re-elected a member of the legislative assembly in 1956. That same year, he was promoted to Minister of Education.

John Bogolo Erzuah was elected a minister without portfolio for the Ministry of External Affairs in July 1959 and appointed Ghana's high commissioner to India in 1957 and served for two years.

He was also Ghana's high commissioner to Egypt in 1959 and served till 1960. He also served as Ghana's ambassador to France in 1962 and Ghana's ambassador to the Ivory Coast in 1964, he served till 1966 when the Nkrumah government was overthrown by the NLC.
