Saratu Atta is a Ghanaian lawyer and administrator. She is the Personal Assistant for the President of Ghana and a member of the New Patriotic Party.
She was born to a Ghanaian mother and a Nigerian father, Adamu Atta. Her father was from Adavi Local Government of Kogi State and was the first civilian governor of the defunct Kwara State.
Saratu Atta has a certificate in Politics and International Studies from the University of Warwick. She worked as a Securities Trader at First Securities Discount House in Lagos between 1993 and 1997 and then opened her own security printing company in Lagos. In 2008, she was appointed Ghana’s New Patriotic Party (NPP) Campaign Secretary.
She was appointed Office Manager and Executive Assistant to Ghana’s President-Elect, Nana Akufo-Addo, and has remained in that position since 2009.
Saratu Atta was formerly married to Nigerian politician, Femi Fani-Kayode and they had a son together. The marriage ended after a few years.
