According to the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA), the E-levy brought in 328.80 million as of September 2022.

Rev. Dr. Ammishaddai Owusu-Amoah, Commissioner-General of the Ghana Revenue Authority, stated that the country continues to experience a 20% improvement in the collection of the levy on a month-to-month basis.

"We started putting this charge into effect in May 2022. As of September 2022, E-levy revenue totaled GHS328.80M, according to the GRA.

When announcing the revenue performance for 2022, he said, "It is therefore our belief that, this will continue and boost domestic income generation to sustain government expenditure."

He added that the GRA has a USSD code that will enable every Ghanaian to check on their level of tax compliance.

"We have also obtained a USSD code that will enable any Ghanaian to check on their level of tax compliance. We'll release this brief code as soon as we can," he promised.

The contentious fee went into effect on May 1 despite criticism to the idea from certain Ghanaians, particularly the main opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), who believed it to be a threat to electronic transactions.

The GRA gave the public the reassurance that suitable safeguards had been put in place to ensure a seamless implementation.

"The Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) desires to advise the public that the implementation of the Electronic Transfer Levy Act (Act1075) would commence on Sunday May 1," read a statement released on Saturday, April 30.

In order to make sure that the charging entities are ready to implement the levy by the deadline, "The GRA has organized multiple technical sessions and engagements with the charging entities on the implementation of the e-levy." The authority gives the public the reassurance that sufficient safeguards have been put in place to guarantee the seamless implementation of the levy. We urge the public to get in touch with the relevant authorities.
