The Central Region National Democratic Congress Chairman Professor Richard Kofi Asiedu is making the headlines on the media in a press conference held yesterday when he addressed the media about his proud achiements throughout his one year stay in office as the Chairman for the party.

Among the other party executives present during the press conference were Hon. Samuel Aubrey- Director of International Relations for Central Region, Hon Mark Takyi B. Chief Administrator, Inspector Nicholas Saime- Central Region Director of Operations, Hon. Eric Aubyn Hawkins- Deputy Director of Research, Anthony Nkrumah- Member of the Economic Commuter and the Director of Elections Dr Daniel.

Prof Asiedu remains a solid pillar for the NDC in a multifaceted dimensions and and is doing whatever to stage a greater comeback for the party in a supersonic speed to win the 2024 elections. During the press conference monitored by GhanaWeb in Central Region below were some of the submissions of the distinguished Regional Chairman;

This is exactly one year we the Central Region NDC had our Regional Elections and it has become imperative to account for my stewardship for the past one year as the chairman just as any other individual will do when you are entrusted with a position.

We have tactfully resolved seven out of the eight impasses and court cases we inhertited which kept on bedevilling the party but the only thing which is yet to be resolved is that of the Agona-East. Effort is being made to curtail the situation at Agona-East party issues through the Department of Conflict Resolution headed by a renowned Professor.

The NDC under the tutelage of Prof Richard Kofi Asiedu successfully organized the primaries for twenty constituencies except the Assin North constituency and those elections were devoid of chaos, anarchy, fisticuffs, guns and knive related conflict, no court cases but rather a peaceful one because the the party did everything perfectly according to the party laws to ensure a credible elections.

Immediately after the Central Regional NDC elections, the NDC National deemed it highly expedient to honour Prof Asiedu and his indefatigable executives for the manner they conducted the elections and entrusted Prof Asiedu e'tal to host the National Youth and Women Conference which took place at the University of Cape Coast and for the first time as Regional Chairman Prof Asiedu worked brilliantly and tirelessly to ensure the success of that programme.

Professor Richard Asiedu, the grassroot man just like Kennedy Agyapong revealed that he ponder issues critically and also believes in political inclusivity as a means to ensure the party mobilize for a greater victory. He has welcomed into his leadership his direct opponents like Kakra Yalley, Kwadwo Quansah, and Theophilus Adu Mensah immediately he took the mantle as the Central Regional Chairman in Winneba. Such a decision to tap the rich experience from the past executives was in line with the advice given to him by the NDC National Chairman Honourable Johnson Asiedu a.k.a General Mosquito.

Again, Professor Richard Asiedu submitted that, out of his love and commitment to the party, he fully funded the establishment of Rich FM 98.7 in Assin Foso to preach the good news about the party.

He has supported various constituencies under his watch with megaphones, the needed finance to help boost the chance of the party in to come back into the winning ways since he Prof Asiedu did not entered into politics to amass wealth but to make name and leave good legacies for the party, the region, himself and families, unlike the past Allotey Jacobs who took the party into a ditch.

Furthermore, Prof Asiedu made it clear without much equivocation that he is arguably the first Chairman ever to attend TEIN meetings as a youth and reaffirmed his stance to win the presidential elections for His Excellency the former President John Dramani Mahama even if selling his worthy assets like cars to generate funds to make such dream come into a limelight he is poised to go that way. He is also tasked to capture twenty Parliamentary seat for the NDC in Central Region to make a great history and then bow out peacefully.

His biggest political achievement since his one year tenure at office as NDC Chairman for Central Region has been the Assin North seat he won for Gyakye Quayson. During the Assin North By-Elections, he spent not less than GHC 1.5 million on that elections and took it upon himself to feed not less than 700 people a day to ensure victory goes to Honourable James Gyakye Quayson.

His good leadership qualities coupled with his rich experience he garnnered when he was a member of the NPP in the past from 1993 till 2007, when he switched to the NDC is enough to lead the party to achieve a tremendous height. He has served in various positions and vetted most party gurus in the past and his level of charisma has forged a greater union among his party executives.

With regard to the challenges he faces as a Central Regional NDC Chairman, he asserted that indiscipline, insurbodination and the revealation of party secrets has been the setbacks but even with that, he is cracking the whips to alleviate that to win the elections all because he is a serious business man.
