Theresa Oppong, 28, the alleged mastermind, Alice Gyan, 21, and Beatrice Asabea, presently at large and believed to be siblings, were charged alongside gold dealers Ishmael Ocansey and Thomas Adjapon.

Theresa Oppong, Alice Gyan, and Beatrice Asabea are sisters who reside respectively in Accra and Ashaiman.

He stated that Oppong met Alice in Osu, the same location where Asabea was met.

According to him, as galamsayers from Obuasi, Oppong, Alice, and Asabea met Ishmael and Thomas at their businesses in Adabraka and sold them gold at prices of GH360,000.00 and GH367,280.00.

He stated that Oppong later wept with the truth and told the police that she had spoken with Alice and Asabea about the means to take the items.

According to the Prosecutor, Oppong further suggested that on March 23, she stole gold and met Alice in Osu, while Asabea joined them from Ashaiman to Ishmael and Thomas for sale.

Ishmael and Thomas reported to the CID headquarters in response to an invitation, where they readily produced the gold and stated that they had been led to believe that Oppong, Alice, and Asabea were involved in galamsey with their siblings and planned to sell it in Accra.
