Matchday 28 of the 2022/23 Ghana Premier League continued on Wednesday and Thursday.

Former Ghanaian champions Hearts of Oak suffered an ignominious defeat at Tamale City's Aliu Mahama Stadium on Wednesday, falling eight points behind the leaders.

The lackluster performance of the Phobians led to a 4-1 defeat at the hands of Tamale City, a team fighting for survival. Tamale City's victory moves them three positions above the relegation zone and bolsters their survival chances.

Hearts needed to respond to last Saturday's loss at Bechem United, but they fell behind after 17 minutes when Sampson Eduku scored following a superb run.

Before the second half, he scored his second goal from the penalty spot. Mohammed Yahaya made it 3-0 before Hearts' substitute Victor Aidoo scored a consolation goal, but Isaac Mensah's late goal secured the historic victory.

Aduana celebrated their return to home turf with a 2-0 victory over Bibiani Gold Stars, courtesy of a brace from Kelvin Obeng. After serving a one-match home suspension for hooliganism, Aduana returned to the Nana Agyemang Badu Park with a dominating performance.

King Faisal and Bechem United played to a scoreless draw, lowering the Hunters to third place.

Medeama reclaimed second place after defeating Dreams FC 3-2 in a five-goal drama, with forward Hamidu Abdu Fatawu scoring the game-winning goal in the 91st minute.

Samartex regained its winning ways with a 2-0 victory over Nsoatreman, and Legon Cities defeated Accra Lions 2-0 to move five points clear of the relegation zone.

Berekum Chelsea labored but ultimately defeated Kotoku Royals by a score of 2-1.

At the Sogakope Stadium, Great Olympics defeated defending champion an Asante Kotoko 2-0 to escape the relegation zone.

Finally, Karela United defeated RTU on the road by a score of 1-0.
