After being detained by the Commercial Crime Unit of the Ghana Police Service, Ghanaian music sensation Black Sherif found himself in a sticky situation.

According to reports, the musician was released on bail on July 17, 2023, following allegations that he failed to honour his contractual commitments with Cruise People Limited, which resulted in the cancellation of a high-profile cruise ship performance that was scheduled to take place in Greece.

According to the specifics provided, Black Sherif is suspected of having broken the agreement that he had made with Cruise People Limited by first receiving a sizeable sum and then neglecting to promote the event that was to be called "Afro Cruise Jam."

As the news spread, social media platforms were inundated with debates from fans, friends, and players in the music industry, all of whom were guessing on the sequence of events that led to the music star's current dilemma.

As the level of interest and scrutiny from the general public continues to rise, both Black Sherif and Cruise People Limited are scheduled to meet with the Ghana Police Service today as part of the investigation procedures that are now being carried out.

The conclusion of this meeting and the legal actions that follow will surely have a considerable impact, both on the reputation of both parties involved in this sad commercial dispute as well as on any future engagements those parties may have.

After the initial edition of the cruise was a huge success, it gained major attention because to its star-studded lineup, which included well-known musicians such as Gramps Morgan and Abrantie Amakye Dede.

Black Sherif was hired by Cruise People Limited to perform at the second edition of the event in accordance with the terms of the agreement, which stated that the company would pay him a total of Forty Thousand United States Dollars ($40,000), with an initial payment of Twenty Thousand United States Dollars ($20,000) paid to assure his attendance.

In exchange, it was expected that the musician would produce a video confirming both his availability and his commitment to perform on the dates that had been agreed upon.

However, difficulties emerged when it was believed that Black Sherif would not provide the promised video. This video was essential for marketing the event and increasing the number of tickets sold.

Cruise People Limited made a number of attempts to inform the artiste and his management team of the violation, but they did not receive a response to any of these reminders. Even more official messages from the legal team of the corporation on May 23, 2023 did not result in a resolution of the conflict.

As a result of the situation reaching its breaking point, Cruise People Limited has decided to initiate legal action. Unfortunately, the situation reached a point where it required the intervention of the Ghana Police Service, and Black Sherif was detained upon his arrival at the airport as a result of this intervention.

It is essential to keep in mind that the arrest was made not in connection with any illegal action but rather in relation to a civil dispute that belongs to the alleged breaching of a contract.
