Church record labels shouldn't exclusively sign artists from their denominations since gospel tunes spread farther than sermons, says Moses

In a recent interview on the Nii Noi-hosted Christian Entertainment Review show, renowned gospel hitmaker Moses Osei Kwarteng, also known as Moses OK, stated that gospel acts require more support than preachers.

Moses OK haas made a number of submissions on support for Gospel musicians and churches founding record labels in yet another wholesome episode of amusing and spiritually uplifting materials on one of Ghana's most popular Christian talk shows, CER.

He responded, "I don't think I will ever forget this story, maybe until when we die and come back," when questioned about some of his prior interactions with churches. I once took the STC all the way from Kumasi to Tema for an occasion, and all I got in return was a GHS 15 offering from the minister—GHS 200 in today's money.

Gospel musicians require funding from the church. Due to financial constraints, some of the names you were familiar with back then are no longer as active. You won't be able to do it if you lack the financial resources.

These artists need to be encouraged by our churches as well as by godly people who are prospering financially. You can choose to sponsor someone's works if they have ministered to you, such as Cindy Thompson, who is still living. Just give her a call.

I've been claiming to people that no man of God has ever been able to preach a message that is so powerful that it has traveled that far, given the depth to which a song can go and the influence that a song can have.

Regarding churches starting record labels, Moses OK applauded the move but was quick to point out that they did not have to sign only artists who belonged to their denomination because there are many talented artists without support in other small churches that might not have the resources to start labels.

With songs like "Osoro Taa W'akyi" and "Nti Mepaa Meni" among others, Moses OK, who is renowned for his unique fusion of intimate worship and energizing style of leading congregations, is currently promoting his most recent release, Ene Menko (Go With Me), which is accessible on all online music streaming platforms.
