EIU Is Rather Urging the NDC to Change Its Mind John Mahama - Awudu Mahama

Mr. Awudu Mahama, managing editor of the Custodian Newspaper, has weighed in on a report by the United Kingdom-based Economic Intelligence unit (EIU), expressing a contrary opinion to the unit's assertions that the National Democratic Congress (NDC) will win the 2024 elections.

He believes that, contrary to the EIU's prediction, the Ghanaian elections of 2024 will be won by the political party with the best strategy.

"A political party with a good strategy will win the 2024 elections," he said, emphasizing the warnings the EIU has issued to the NDC in order for them to win the upcoming election.

Mr. Awudu Mahama, commenting on the report, urged members of the NDC not to lose site of the EIU's caveat that they can only win the election with a new candidate like Dr. Kwabena Duffour and not former President John Dramani Mahama.

In a studio discussion on Movement TV that was monitored by Wontumionline.com, Mr. Awudu Mahama referred to Mr. John Mahama as the NDC's "presumptive candidate" but added that he cannot lead the party to victory based on the report.

In a report published on Friday, April 28, 2023, and included in their April 2023 Country Report on Ghana, the EIU predicted the opposition NDC would win the 2024 General Elections.

According to a portion of their report, former president John Mahama began his campaign for the NDC presidential nomination in March.

Kwabena Duffuor, a former finance minister who has also declared his intention to secure the party's nomination, would be an example of a candidate who could revitalize the NDC's chances.

But Mr. Awudu Mahama insists that NDC members shouldn't "celebrate" just yet because they haven't reenergized their base with a new candidate.
