Ernest Yaw Anim emerged as the New Patriotic Party's candidate for the impending by-election in the Kumawu Constituency on Sunday afternoon.
His closest competitor and the only woman in the five-man contest, Obaapa Ama Serwaa, received 182 votes, compared to his 195 votes.
Dr. Aboagye Dacosta received 27 votes, Kwame Appiah Kubi received 10 votes, and Osei-Hweree Kwame Bempah garnered only 5 ballots.
In total, 419 delegates voted, and one ballot was rejected.
