Celebrities from Nigeria, like the rest of us, are not immune to mortality. Some of them have gone through the unthinkable, including near-death encounters that have pushed their bravery and faith.
Here are some famous Nigerians who, although facing certain death, miraculously survived:
First, Yul Edochie
Yul Edochie, who was alive in 2019, was involved in a terrible accident that almost killed him. He was forever changed by the experience, and in 2020, the movie star posted a moving statement on Twitter.
He stated:
"My entire life appeared before my eyes in a split second, and a voice told me it was over before going black. However, God offered me another chance. This second life is devoted to serving others, improving the world, and disseminating the gospel.
Uche Elendu 2.
Nollywood actress Uche Elendu almost escaped death when an Arik Air plane she was on reportedly crash landed on January 12, 2022. The actress thanked God for preserving her life in her Instagram post about her near-death experience.
She also described her interaction with an air host who made disparaging remarks about her faith and discounted her belief in divine intervention in her essay.
Melvin Oduah 3.
A well-known actor and Big Brother Naija ex-housemate almost avoided death in a terrible vehicle accident on May 2, 2022, in a stunning turn of events.
Melvin posted a picture of his severely damaged car on social media and expressed his sincere appreciation to God for saving him from the catastrophic tragedy. A short but impactful caption reading "Thank you Jesus" was added.
Jide Kosoko 4.
Jide Kosoko, a seasoned actor in Nollywood, almost avoided dying in a horrifying car accident in 2014.
Despite being behind the wheel at the time, the actor miraculously avoided serious injury when his automobile skidded out of control due to faulty brakes.
His car's brakes abruptly failed as he was traveling close to the Ikeja retail complex, spinning it out of control. The car was destroyed in the collision, but Jide made it out alive.
He attended church the following day for Thanksgiving and gave a speech about how he had survived.
Angela Okorie 5.
The Nollywood actress in 2019 had what can only be called a horrible attack from a suspected assassin but managed to survive.
According to reports, she was shot twelve times, leaving twelve bullet wounds in her body. She miraculously pulled through the trauma despite this. She released an X-ray footage on Instagram in which ten bullets from her skull and two from near her eyes were removed.
Angela attributed her survival to divine intervention and said it was proof of the divine purpose.
