Ghana Founder Dan Owusu desires the addition of a strikers coach to the Black Stars coaching staff.

Dan Owusu, a legend in Ghana, wants to add a strikers coach to the Black Stars technical staff to help them with their goal-scoring issues.

The Black Stars have struggled to replace Gyan, 37, since his withdrawal from the team in 2019, with a number of players failing to fill his role.

Dan Owusu claims that the national team's recent goal-scoring issues will be resolved with the addition of a strikers' coach.

"It would be wise for the Black Stars team to hire a strikers' coach. Truth be told, the club lacks firepower up front, thus we focus on certain former strikers to aid the team with its goal-scoring issues, he admitted in an interview with Koforidua-based Bryt FM.

"I recommended this years ago, but nobody listened to me. I think this is the right moment. I offered to assist in resolving the scoring issues, but the national team never gave me the opportunity. Since I'm getting older, I can no longer occupy the post of striker's coach, but I think any of our best previous strikers could fill it if given the chance.

"When you go to Europe, they used to have striker coaches, but in Ghana and other African nations, that is not the case, which is unfortunate. We are the national team's resource persons because we have experience and because Ghana has produced elite strikers like Willie Klutse, George Alhassan, and me, who might have assisted the various national teams in scoring.

In order to address the scoring issues, he remarked, "We have players like Asamoah Gyan and others who are not playing. I think it is about time we tap into their ideas."
