The Ashanti Regional Chairman for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Mr. Bernard Antwi-Boasiako, has slammed the decision by the National Democratic Congress (NDC) not to recognize how strategic and tactful it would have been for the party if they had championed an agenda to make Haruna Iddrisu their flagbearer.
In an interview on the Wontumi Morning Show which was monitored by Wontumionline.com, the NPP Chairman popularly known as Chairman Wontumi, stated that “the NDC’s best candidate is Haruna Iddrisu but he couldn’t pick forms to contest.”
Chairman Wontumi insisted that the Member of Parliament for Temale Central is the NDC’s finest candidate for the 2024 election and made an appeal to the NDC to overlook former President John Mahama if they want to force to be reckoned with during the polls.
“They have put their best candidate on injury and that will politically hurt Haruna. In 2028 the NDC would realize that Mahama has wasted their time and we will help them do it”, Chairman Wontumi said.
He described former President Mahama as a “violent” politician who teaches his followers to insult rather than dwell on policies.
“They (NDC) have recruited international and local people to insult on their behalf. You will find Mahama using the digital space for jokes”, Chairman Wontumi pointed out.
