How Can An Ordinary Minister Have Such Huge Sums Of Money At Home? - Former President John Dramani Mahama Reaots To Cecelia Dapaah's Robbery Case

The former President of Ghana, John Dramani Mahama, has provided his response to the news that the Minister of Sanitation, Cecelia Dapaah, was the victim of an armed robbery.

Two domestic servants who worked for Cecilia Abena Dapaah and her husband, Daniel Osei Kuffour, are currently being prosecuted in an Accra Circuit Court on allegations that they stole money and other valuables with a combined value of millions of Ghana Cedis. The allegations were made earlier today.

The money that had reportedly been stolen from the couple was discovered in the bedroom of their home in Abelemkpe, which is a suburb of Accra.

Patience Botwe, then aged 18, and Sarah Agyei, then aged 30, are suspected of robbing the couple of their money and personal things during the months of July and October 2022.

The matter is currently being considered by the judge, and the hearing is scheduled for August 2nd, 2023.

In response to this, the previous President of Ghana, John Mahama, expressed his confusion on how a Minister could be in possession of such enormous quantities of money at her residence.

He penned the following: "$1 million plus €300,000 and millions of GHS at the home of a Ghanaian Minister?

Scandalous!!

Why, even if you have legitimately acquired millions of dollars, would you keep them at home?

When will @NAkufoAddo show the other public office holders in his administration how to behave in their positions?
