Former Finance Minister Dr Kwabena Duffuor
Dr. Kwabena Duffuor, a former minister of finance, stated that the failure of his bank, Unibank and Unicredit Savings and Loans, had no effect on him.
He also stated that he did not feel slighted by the system after the two enterprises failed during the Bank of Ghana's (BoG) financial sector clean up exercise.
Dr. Duffuor responded in an interview with TV3's Paa Kwasi Asare, when asked if he felt slighted by the system, "I don't believe so."
He added that he was not actively involved in the day-to-day operations of all his enterprises.
The former governor of the central bank was fast to add, however, that the issues surrounding the bank's closure are currently before the court; therefore, he will await the court's decision to determine the next step.
He stated, "I was not on the board, I was not in management, I had established a blind trust, and all my companies were managed by a board of trustees; I was not in charge of any of these businesses." Currently, the case is in court."

He added that he continues to have faith in his son Kwabena Duffuor Jr., who managed these enterprises prior to their failure.
"I continue to have faith in my son who was managing the enterprise. My son was a financier for a very long time, and he did nothing improper."
