John Mahama pursues Annoh after Dompreh accuses the NDC of conspiring to deny him the Nsawam seat

Former President John Mahama has declared political war on Frank Annoh-Dompreh, the majority chief whip and member of parliament for Nsawam/Adoagyiri in the Eastern Region. He has urged the opposition National Democratic Congress to use all available means to prevent him from keeping his seat in Nsawam.

Mr. Mahama claims that Frank Annoh-Dompreh is seriously harming the NDC by persuading them to support every government initiative, especially in the Minority caucus in Parliament.

The former president made this statement on his second day of campaigning in the area, when he met with the NDC Constituency Executives body at Nsawam on Wednesday.

After meeting the delegates, he informed the NDC Constituency Executives that Annoh-Dompreh had divided the Minority front and that it was his influence that was causing issues between the NDC leadership and the Minority Caucus in Parliament.

The NDC MPs in Parliament are already at odds with the Minority Caucus on how they choose to vote on all matters of government, and they have been charged with colluding with the NPP Majority Caucus to exert influence.

Since Annoh-Dompreh is his target, Mr. Mahama made it clear that he would do everything in his power to ensure that he was defeated by providing the party with the necessary resources. He expressed concern about how the Minority MPs were defying party policy after being told to vote against any government business.

Even though the NDC leadership has repeatedly attempted to persuade their MPs to vote against government business, the Majority Chief Whip of the 8th Parliament, Frank Annoh-Dompreh, has consistently gone above and beyond to convince the Minority group in Parliament to support any government business.

According to reports, Annoh-Dompreh has developed strong bonds with the majority of NDC MPs, particularly their leaders. The NDC National Executives are not pleased with this, and they have accused Annoh-Dompreh of swaying NDC MPs to vote in favor of the NPP when it comes to voting on government policies and ministerial nominees.

Due to these and other claims, the NDC leadership, under the direction of Chairman Aseidu Nketia and Fifi Kwetery, recently made an authoritarian decision to remove the MPs for Tamale North, Haruna Iddirisu and Mutaka, from their positions as minor party leaders, respectively, in a Rambo-style move.

Along with the parliamentary matter, Annoh-Dompreh has been criticizing John Mahama politically by bringing to light his actions during the previous NDC administration.

Unhappy Mahama, who appears to be seeking retribution, declares that he would take all necessary steps to ensure that Annoh-Dompreh loses his seat.
