Abubakar Abdulaziz, 30, of Sabuwar Santa, Musawa Local Government Area, Katsina State, is now being held by police on suspicion of allegedly abducting and burying a three-year-old boy alive.

According to reports, Abdulaziz buried the kidnapped boy alive despite only receiving N150,000 of the N800,000 ransom demanded by the boy's father.

The event was reported on Monday by CSP Gambo Isah, the Katsina State Police Command's spokesman.

Isah claimed Abdulaziz had confessed to committing the crime when he was apprehended on Thursday as a result of a tip-off.

The 30-year-old Abubakar Abdulaziz of Sabuwar Santa in the Musawa Local Government Area of Katsina State, who is suspected of kidnapping and killing a three-year-old boy, was arrested on April 12, 2023, at around 3 p.m., according to a police official.

The suspect entered Adamu Alhassan's home in Bacirawa village, the Musawa Local Government Area, Katsina State, illegally while the victim was asleep on March 23, 2023, at around 1am, and took his three-year-old son away to an unidentified location.

"He dropped a note with instructions for the aforementioned Adamu Alhassan to pay a ransom of N800,000 and a phone number for contact. However, the father tried to secure his child's release by getting in touch, negotiating, and paying N150,000, but to no effect.

"Detectives acted quickly after receiving the report and were able to apprehend the suspect (Abubakar Abdulaziz) in connection with the case. He admitted to committing the crime while it was being investigated, and he also admitted to burying the child alive after receiving the money.

Isah disclosed that the incident was already the subject of an investigation.
