Abdul Malik Kweku Baako, Editor-in-Chief of the New Crusading Guide, has called the race for Vice-President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia in the impending New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer election.

He emphasized that Dr. Bawumia's aim is not only attainable, but a matter of certainty, on the Wednesday, April 5, 2023, episode of Peace FM's Kokrokoo morning show.

Kennedy Agyepong and Alan Kyerematen, who are rumored to be making progress toward being the NPP's flagbearer, were not mentioned by Mr. Baaku.

Dr. Owusu Afriyie Akoto, the minister of food and agriculture, also resigned from his position to concentrate on his presidential aspirations.

The six other contenders, including former Minister of Energy, Boakye Agyarko, ex-Presidential Spokesperson and General Secretary of the party, Kwabena Agyepong, ex-Attorney-General and Minister of Justice, Joe Ghartey, MP for Essikado-Ketan; a former MP for Mampong, Francis Addai-Nimoh, and a former Minister of State, Dr Kofi Konadu Apraku, who is also a former MP for Offinso North, are also campaigning vigorously for the slot..

"According to NPP politics, the presidential election is in February 2024 and the legislative election is in 2023, correct? In reality, co-panelist Kwamena has projected several of my ideas.

"Let me begin with the recent presidential news. Yesterday, Vice President Bawumia published something on social media. I'm not sure if he simply put a flier or if there was an event.

He informed the show's presenter, Kwami Sefa Kayi, "But he said #ItIsPossible, I have looked into the crystal ball and I saw that Kwami, it is more than probable; it is almost a certainty."

According to the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), ex-President John Dramani Mahama is already expected to win, hence there is no contest.

The post by Dr. Bawumia is the clearest hint he has publicly provided that he intends to run for the NPP flagbearership and thereafter the position of Ghana's next president.

The NPP flagbearer election is scheduled for November of this year, and Dr. Bawumia is expected to win. The race is set to begin next month.

Several comments on his page, where the news was made, begged him to continue and referred to him as the Next To Lead.

Involved personally in each of Ghana's previous four general elections, which took place between 2008 and 2020, was Dr. Bawumia.

His four consecutive terms as President Akufo-Addo's running partner are unique in Ghanaian political history.

Given the number of programs and policies he has led as vice president, Dr. Bawumia is recognized by many as the most influential vice president in Ghana's history.
