Earlier today in Nalerigu in the capital of the North East Region, the youth of the region joined the 6th March parade in celebration of the 66th Independence day for our country.In joining the celebration, the youth held placards with inscriptions such as Stop meddling in chieftaincy, I stand with Nayiri, Mamprugu over party politics, Mamprugu will remain long after you are gone among the many placards held during the celebrations.These placards held by the youth of mamprugu are in opposition to the unnecessary interference and meddling into the chieftaincy conflict in Bawku over who has the legitimate right to occupy the Bawku skin by the President Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo-Addo.Bawku has been part of mamprugu traditionally and administratively since the 17th Century until the British divided it for ease of administration.
