Nana Osei, also known as Nacee, is a gospel musician and producer from Ghana. He recently discussed his upbringing and the role his mother played in his life.

Nacee revealed in an emotional interview with Felicia Osei on Onua Fm's Adwuma Adwuma that his mother would take him to the beach to intercede for him and cry out to God on his behalf.

"My mother did not want to disturb the neighbors with her prayers, so the best place for her to pray was on the beach," he explained.

Growing up, the 'Aseda' singer encountered a number of obstacles and difficulties, including destitution and a dearth of opportunities.

His devoutly Christian mother believed that prayer was the key to overcoming these challenges.

She frequently took Nacee to the shore, where he would cry and pray on her lap.

"My mother would be crying, her tears would fall on my head, and I would ask her to stop crying," said a tearful Nacee.

The prayers and faith of Nacee's mother had a profound effect on him. She is credited with instilling in him a passion for God and a desire to use his music to serve others.

"My father perished at three days of age. I never met my parents. I am only aware that he is Barekese. My mother did not want to lose me as a result of what my father endured. The trauma she endured was too much, so she protected me with everything she had through godliness and discipline, he disclosed.

Today, Nacee is an accomplished gospel musician, performer, songwriter, record producer, and multi-instrumentalist, renowned for his elevating and inspiring music. In his work, he continues to draw from the wisdom of his octogenarian mother and the efficacy of prayer.

Because I was an only child, my mother did not overindulge me. She was very strict, but gentle when necessary, and she introduced me to God. Even after I was falsely accused of a crime I did not commit and she pleaded with me to return home when I was 15 years old, I remained steadfast in my decision. When no one else did, she believed in me, and her prayers gave me the strength to pursue my ambitions," he explained.
