A group calling itself concerned constituents of Tamale North Constituency has called for support for the Member of Parliament, Alhaji Alhassan Sayibu Suhuyini to go unopposed in the upcoming parliamentary primaries for 2024 elections.
At a press conference read on behalf of the group, Mr. Mohammed Awal said they came to this conclusion following the development projects by the MP over the years, adding that any attempt to contest him will distract his focus.
“We the Concerned Constituents of this great constituency arrived at such a decision to pay for the nomination form for Hon. Alhaji Alhassan Sayibu Suhuyini because of his unprecedented work as far as this constituency is concerned”, the group told the media.
“The above-mentioned group will wish to declare our support in a loud and clear manner through your medium to the good people of Tamale North and the entire NDC family across the length and breadth of this Republic for Hon. Suhuyini to go “UNOPPOSE” in these upcoming parliamentary primaries”, they added.
According to them, there is a famous statement in the field of football that says “YOU DON’T CHANGE YOUR WINNING TEAM”, hence, they their decision to support Alhassan Suhuyini in whatever form to be retained.
They also indicated that they have taken it upon themselves to pay for the nomination fees of the member of parliament for the constituency and to take up the his campaign going into 2024 election.
The group however ended by cataloguing a number of projects executed in sectors such as health, education, sports, water and sanitation and agriculture, describing it as “unprecedented”.
