Former President of Ghana, John Dramani Mahama has expressed shock at the fact that flagbearer hopefuls of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) are running away from the problems they have caused the country.
He says these individuals who played key roles in the Economic Management Team of the current government continue to blame external factors for the current hardship.
“Unsurprisingly, no one in this NPP government wants to take responsibility for
anything, including their flagbearer hopefuls, most of whom were part of their
Economic Management Team. They continue to lay blame for their economic disaster on external factors whose relationship with our present sorry circumstances are at most tenuous,” Mr Mahama said.
Mr Mahama indicated that the crisis has been years in making adding that it was avoidable but the Nana Akufo-Addo government which does not listen failed to backdown on certain things they were warned against.
“We all know that this economic collapse has been years in the making just as we
know it was entirely avoidable. Amid all the suffering, the government remains obstinate and refuses to back down from the costly missteps that led us here in the first place,” he said.
What’s even worrying, according to the former President is the fact that the NPP government after its failure continue to spend the merger resources available on dodgy projects and a bloated government.
“They continue to waste the precious little we have on dodgy and misguided projects,
programmes and on a bloated government.”
