A senior lecturer at the Kumasi Technical University and a member of the Academic Patriotic team, Dr. Solomon Kwarteng Forkuo, has signaled that the chances of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) retaining power in 2024 is higher than that of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) despite the economic challenges.
He insisted that the situation would only change should the NDC decide to bring in a new flagbearer. He was quick to add that if the NDC decides to maintain former President John Mahama as their flagbearer for 2024, then it would be game over for them since they can’t win with him.
Dr. Forkuo was reacting to moves by some Presidential staffers to pursue their parliamentary ambition noting that taking such move doesn’t mean they foresee the NPP losing the 2024 elections.
“It is not true NPP will lose the 2024 elections. Ken, Bawumia or Alan would come with their team that is why some presidential staffers are looking to secure their future in parliament”, he said on the Wontumi Morning show.
