Bogpoka Banga is accused of beating her 39-year-old husband to death on Saturday, shocking and sobbing the residents of Logre in the Nabdam District of the Upper Region.

Agyei Abanga, a 39-year-old Mason, passed away unexpectedly in the early hours of Saturday after his wife, Mrs. Abanga, allegedly struck him repeatedly with a pestle in their room.

When one of the deceased's family members went to the house to tell the deceased's grandmother—who lives with the extended family—that Mrs. Abanga had hit her father with something, locked him in the house, and fled with three of their children to Walewale—after the deceased's firstborn had escaped from her mother, they discovered the renowned building contractor lying in a pool of blood.

According to some reports, Mr. Abanga was killed by being struck with a pickaxe. But after A1 News paid a visit to the grieving family on Sunday, they learned that Mrs. Banga had used a pestle to murder the victim.

The firstborn (daughter) of the deceased reportedly ran to the extended family in the early hours of Saturday to report that her mother had hit her father with an object, locked him up in their house, and asked for permission to leave with the kids for Walewale, according to the bereaved family who confirmed the news to A1 News.

The small girl, after accompanying her mother out of the house for a short while, delicately told her mother a falsehood that she was going to meet a friend and took advantage of that moment to tell the house, according to Bawa Dagal-kurug, leader of the grieving family.

Mr. Dagal-kurug claimed that shortly after Mrs. Abanga committed the heinous act, the family went to her father's home, Sheaga, to find out where she was. Her relatives in Walewale were then contacted by her family, who received confirmation that she had arrived there.

Mr. Bawa Dagal-Kurug, who was horrified and heartbroken by the tragedy, informed the public that Mrs. Abanga would be turned over to the police when she was found so they could bring her to justice for the horrific crime.

"He used to live with the extended family with us, but now he lives in his house with his wife by herself. His room is still here. He goes by the name Agyei and works as a builder. He has four children, and the oldest of them reported to the larger family that their mother had woken them up early in the morning and informed them she was taking them to Walewale. The young girl described seeing their mother lock their father in a room with blood all over it after she had witnessed it.

The grandmother was alarmed by the report and gave the order to a family member to visit the deceased's home and inquire about what had transpired. When he arrived to the residence, the gate was closed. He climbed over a hallway and entered the premises to discover the deceased's room was locked. He entered the room after breaking down the door to discover the corpse lying in a pool of blood with a blood-stained pestle next to him.

After we called the police to report the event, they arrived to pick up the body and take it to the mortuary. I dialed the family's number from his father's home to inquire about the key suspect's whereabouts, and they informed me that she was in Walewale. I have thus dispatched individuals to retrieve the alive woman from Walewale. As soon as we locate her, we will turn her over to the authorities so she can face punishment. When I first heard the news, I was completely stunned and speechless," he recalled in Nabt.

Inspector Amado Zakaria, a police inspector in the Nabdam District, stated to A1 Radioonline.com that the incident had been reported to his organization and that he would cooperate with the bereaved family to guarantee the capture and prosecution of the main suspect.

The body was afterwards placed in a mortuary for preservation and an autopsy.
