Neenyi Ghartey VII, paramount chief of the Effutu Traditional Area, expressed delight over the effective hosting of the Aboakyer Cycling Race (ACR) in the Central Region at Winneba.

The inaugural race was organized by the Ghana Cycling Federation (GCF), the National Sports Authority (NSA), and the University of Winneba Sports College.

Speaking to the media, he said, "I have seen people riding bicycles, and I have seen the Tour de France on television, but seeing it in person today, especially the photo finish, was truly incredible."

"On behalf of the people of Winneba, I would like to thank the Federation, NSA, National Sports College-Winneba, cyclists, the media, and the event's organizers for making this a successful and memorable event. I believe the federation is prepared to remain."

"Riding for 65-kilometers is not a lark. I don't know what they do outside, but for me, a 65-kilometer race is quite a distance, and they've done well, particularly the disabled rider and the women. They should continue to work hard because I believe the sky is the limit."

Mr. Collins Kofi Eduafo-Ag, the Technical Director of the University of Education Winneba, praised the cyclists and pledged to establish a cycling club at the institution.

He stated, "The Sports College is full of innovation and creativity, so now that we are able to organize this event successfully, we must also plan and establish a cycling club in the school so that next year's competition will not be limited to those from Accra or the National Cyclists team, but will also include clubs from the schools and communities."
