No verse in the Bible prohibits Christians from enjoying secular music.

Isaac Owusu Bempah, Rev.

No verse in the Bible expressly forbids Christians from listening to non-Christian music, according to Rev. Isaac Owusu Bempah.

The Bible does not forbid listening to worldly music, claims the General Overseer of the Glorious Word Power Ministries International.

Instead, the Bible warns Christians not to associate with individuals who reject God's word, he claimed.

"The truth is, when one takes the Bible, he or she will not find a verse which disregards the listening of secular music, but what the Bible preaches on is not to walk or be involved with those who do not believe in the word of God," he said in an interview on Peace FM's Entertainment Review. To be completely honest with you, I haven't seen or read any scripture that forbids Christians from enjoying popular commercial music.

He continued, listening to secular music but preferring upbeat songs.

"I'm going to tell you the truth. When I'm driving, I enjoy listening to a few of Sarkodie's songs rather than songs by Nana Kwame Ampadu, Adofo, Alhaji K. Frimpong, and others that have wisdom in them. If Bob Marley and Lucky Dube's songs include any sage advice, I'll listen to them. I listen to these songs because of the wisdom I gain from them, therefore as long as secular songs convey wisdom, I'll listen to them, the man admitted.
