The activities of the Bantamahene, according to the Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, are making him look bad because of the burden on the Asante Kingdom and the traditional stool that Baffour Owusu Amankwatia VI holds.

On February 20, 2023, Bantamahene appeared before Otumfuo Osei Tutu II and the Kumasi Traditional Council (KTC) regarding two sales of land to a Mr. Amponsah and a church that led to misunderstandings between the two.

Bantamahene and the parties involved had a land dispute that Otumfuo was able to settle. Otumfuo instructed Bantamahene to release all of the land's documents to one Mr. Amponsah, to whom he had originally sold the land, and once more instructed him to return the money he had taken from the church within 14 days, as he had pledged before the traditional council.

Otumfuo further gave Batamahene instructions to make sure that Mr. Amponsah receives all land-related paperwork.

Otumfuo, who did not mince words with Bantamahene, said, "Baffour with the stature of the stool you occupy; if such cases come before me, it means you are disgracing me. This is not the first or second time, Baffour, so proceed with caution. If you don’t repent, you will supervise your own destitution; tomorrow I will not forget to dismiss you. Bantamahene doesn’t deserve this prosecution. You are lowering the stature of the Bantama stool. Otumfuo said.

What are you seeking in this world, and how much debt do you owe for this excessive rush for cash, he continued, "Baffour, why?" You are making my life very difficult because of your father. Otumfuo was anxious and agitated.

Otmfuo went on to say that "You are repeating the same behavior that your older brother did when he first started bothering me up until his death. I regret something because of you. When your father was the Bantamahene, he did not run things in this manner. Why do you always petition the Kumasi traditional council if your father never did? I therefore gave you the inheritance because I had faith that you would carry on your father's legacy. Look at what you are doing right now. As we speak, you are currently facing a new accusation: on land, you exploited my name by selling it."

Otumfuo stated that Bantamahene doesn’t know the value of the Bantama stool he occupies.

"You don't understand the meaning and value of the stool you sit on as Banatamahene." If you don’t take care, the stool will sack you. You lose your reputation any time you appear before the traditional council for such wrongdoing.
