Prof. Jane Naana Opoku Agyemang Pushes For Revival Of Spirit Of Volunteerism For Nation Building

The 2020 running mate of the opposition National Democratic Congress,NDC,Prof.Jane Naana Opoku Agyemang is advocating for revival of spirit of volunteerism in the country to promote national development.

She said even though volunteerism is selfless endeavor,it has enormous benefit to the individual and the nation.

She is therefore stressed the need for revival of spirit of volunteerism particularly towards the vulnerable and less privileged in society for alleviation of their sufferings.

Prof.Jane Naana Opoku Agyemang said this in Koforidua in an interview with the media at the sidelines of 5th anniversary of Uriel Impact Generation,a Non-profit organization that focuses on harnessing the spirit of volunteerism to support human development in deprived communities.

For Ambassador Kwasi Ahwoi volunteerism should not be limited to the youth rather also manifest among the political and elite class.

He said the spirit of volunteerism and patriotism are important ingredient for nation building hence must be embraced by all.

Diana Sey, Partner Director of Intercultural Exchange Programs,Ghana advised the youth who want to volunteer to have clear objectives and plan either than that may not be taken serious especially in the corporate ecosystem.

The founder of Uriel Impact Generation,Yayra Portia Klu said the organization will continue to mobilize the youth ready to volunteer to harness their spirit of volunteerism to support the poor and vulnerable in deprived communities in the country.

According to her , the NGO will also continue its donations and offer education scholarship to brilliant but needy students.

Some outstanding individuals such as Ibrahim Mahama, Sammy Awuku were given citations for their support for volunteerism.
