Quamina MP Ghana has superior music, but Nigeria's population and record agreements are its winning formula.

Quamina MP is a songwriter, record producer, and performer from Ghana.

Quamina MP, a Ghanaian musician, asserts that despite the high quality of Ghana's music, Nigeria's music industry is superior due to the country's large population and the involvement of international investors and record labels.

Saturday, April 22, 2023, MP spoke to The Big Show presenter Nana Kwesi on Class 91.3 FM.

"As you can see, Nigerians have access to a variety of advantageous opportunities," he said. They are also numerous. We [Ghanaians] are not particularly abundant."

He clarified what he meant by 'opportunities' by stating, "I'm referring to all of these record labels – the major major record labels.

"I'm referring to good distributions, marketing strategies, foreign investors, and everything else."

He stated that in Ghana, things are different.

Since I began my business, I have never had an investor... Chale, it's always been me, even when I was with Ground Up," MP revealed.

He emphasized that Ghana has high-quality music and that "my crew makes insane music – better music." What remains, he indicated, is "the opportunity to disseminate it [internationally] so that everyone can hear it regardless of their location."

The 'Party' hitmaker stated that he will continue to "put in extra work" in the hopes that "everything will make sense" despite the difficulties of the music industry in Ghana.

Ghana has roughly 33 million inhabitants. Nigeria has over 200 million inhabitants.
