SHS Final Year Student Beaten To Death By Boyfriend See What Happened Between Them

Wed, 2 Aug 2023 Source: Alby News Ghana

A man is accused of killing his girlfriend, who was 17 years old.

Diana Oppong, 17, a second-year student at Wamahinso Senior High School in the Asutifi North region of the Ahafo Region, passed away in a terrible accident that has horrified the town of Wamahinso. The incident is said to have occurred as a result of an assault committed by Diana Oppong's boyfriend.

Diana Oppong passed away on Saturday, July 29, 2023, at the Sunyani Regional Hospital, where she had been a patient ever since the traumatic event took place and where she had been receiving medical care.

The suspect, who has been identified as Kofi, is also a senior student at the Jedu Technical and Vocational Institute, which is the educational establishment that Diana attends. It has been stated that the sad event took place on July 18, 2023, as a direct result of a violent disagreement between the young couple on the possibility that one of them was pregnant.

Witnesses have stated that Diana was the victim of a vicious attack that was perpetrated by Kofi, which left her with severe injuries. The young girl is said to have passed out as a direct consequence of the alleged assault; nevertheless, she eventually recovered consciousness and made the courageous decision to report the incident to the police station in Terchire. There, a police medical form was handed to her so that she could get the appropriate medical attention for her injuries when she went to the hospital.

Diana was initially given medical attention at the Terchire Health Centre; however, due to the gravity of her illness, she needed to be transferred as quickly as possible to the St. John of God Hospital in Duayaw Nkwanta. However, her condition continued to deteriorate, and as a last-ditch effort to save her life, she was transferred to the Sunyani Regional Hospital so that doctors there could try to treat her there. Unfortunately, despite the best efforts of the medical staff, she could not be rescued. This is a terrible loss.

In a phone chat that broke my heart, Diana's heartbroken grandfather, Mr. Boakye Yiadom, described the enormous suffering that the rest of the family is going through as a result of the loss of Diana. Diana was a vivacious and much-loved member of their family as well as the entire neighbourhood, according to his description, he said.

Mr. Yiadom has remarked that his family is in a tremendous deal of grief as a result of the news of his wife's passing. "We are devastated by the news of her passing because she had her life ahead of her and she was loved by many people, but this incident has cut it short, so we are in great pain as a family," he said.

Following the tragic loss of their loved one, Diana, the family is pleading with the relevant authorities to guarantee that she receives the justice she deserves. They are looking for answers and want someone to be held accountable for the alleged crime that ruined their lives.

In the meantime, the suspect in this tragic case, Kofi, has been brought before the Duayaw Nkwanta Magistrate Court to answer for his alleged crimes. He will next be brought back before the judge on August 11, 2023, after having been remanded for a period of two weeks.
