Mr. Boateng presents a gift to one of the recipients.

As part of his annual contribution to the disabled community in Ghana, Mr. Edward Boateng, Director General (DG) of the State Interest and Governance Authority (SIGA), has donated logistics and aids to disabled individuals in the Ashanti Region.

There were white canes, walking clutches, walkers, and mobility chairs among the donated items. The event was conducted at the Methodist Retreat Centre in Kwadaso.

Mr. Boateng, who is also the former Ambassador to the People's Republic of China, urged everyone present, particularly Persons with Disabilities (PWD), to be self-assured, aggressive, and determined to make a difference in society regardless of their circumstances.

Regardless of their obstacles, he cited notable individuals from the local and global community who had a significant impact on society.

"Disability doesn't imply inability. You have innate talents and skills that you must unearth, cultivate, and employ aggressively to make a difference. President Roosevelt, who led the United States through the Great Depression and World War II despite being affected by polio and requiring mobility aids, Stephen Hawking of Cambridge University, who accomplished great scientific feats despite requiring mobility aids and losing his speech, Helen Keller, who became deaf-blind at the age of 19 months and became an advocate for labour rights and many social causes worldwide, Paul AnomahKordieh of e.tv, who was born deaf and blind and became Ghana is blind but still reads live news. The list continues indefinitely. "With modern technology, you can become anything you desire," he said.

Mr. Kwasi Kyei, who accepted the items on behalf of the group, thanked Mr. Boateng for his display of genuine affection and assured that the group would utilize the supplies in their endeavor to make life meaningful.

He stated, "On behalf of the group, I extend my gratitude. We are grateful and confident that the recipients are capable of tremendous accomplishments. What they require is support, technology, and policies that enable their success."

Ambassador Boateng also emphasized the need for a national focus on mental health and called for the effective implementation of Act 715 of 2006, the Persons with Disabilities Act.
