Sammy Gyamfi exposes Bawumia's absurd claim of 2 million employment

When he stated during a health walk at Mpraeso that "verifiable data" proves that the government created over two million employment in the public and private sectors, the public questioned his claims.

He also provided evidence to support his argument.

In a Facebook post, Dr. Bawumia stated that the purpose of the list he supplied was to prove to "naysayers" who doubted the figures that they are accurate, urging them to "get rid of negative thinking."

Sammy Gyamfi stated that the gullible NPP supporters who believe Dr. Bawumia's questionable claim that the government has created over 2.2 million jobs for the Ghanaian youth require a "urgent psychiatric examination" after he provided evidence to debunk his claims.

Ignatius Baffour-Awuah, the Minister-designate for Employment and Labour Relations, told the vetting committee of Parliament in February 2021 that the NPP government created 3 million private and public sector jobs during their first tenure, 2017-2020.

Ignatius Baffour-Awuah, speaking at the inauguration of the 2022 Ghana Job Fair in Sunyani, Bono Region, on September 16, 2022, claimed that the government has created more than 5.3 million jobs.

Sammy Gyamfi disclosed that "the Liar-in-Chief of the NPP, Alhaji Bawumia" on his Twitter handle on April 27, 2023, stated that the government has created 2,255,928 jobs since 2017, excluding jobs created under the Planting for Food and Jobs Program (PF&J) and the NIA, adding that the 3 million jobs they claim to have created by the end of 2020, miraculously increased to over 5.3 million jobs.

Dr. Owusu Afriyie Akoto, the then-Minister of Agriculture, was reported to have stated publicly on August 30, 2021, that the government has created 2 million jobs under the PF&J program.

He asked the Minister of Agriculture how he arrived at the figure he provided and exhorted every Ghanaian with discernment to recognize that "Bawumia is simply a liar."

According to the Ghana Statistical Service, the unemployment rate has increased from 8.4% in 2016 to approximately 14% in 2022, and to make matters worse, the government has announced a complete moratorium on public sector employment in its budget for 2023.

Sammy Gyamfi stated that the government commanded by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and Dr. Bawumia has been responsible for the loss of thousands of jobs due to their poor policies.

He pointed out that the government should not brag about job creation.

He stated that their record of employment creation is the worst in the history of the Fourth Republic, given the vast resources they have amassed.
