Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has accused Kumasi Central Police command of making an unauthorized connection, leading to its disconnection from the national grid.

Samuel Dubik Mahama, the managing director of ECG, admitted the theft and disclosed that it was carried out through an unlawful link while being observed by several business employees.

It's true that we found an unauthorized connection at the police command, but we'll talk to the police about it to make sure we fix the problem. My crew noticed a questionable connection there. The managing director of ECG, Mr. Samuel Dubik Masubir Mahama, has stated.

When the Electricity Company of Ghana visited the Kumasi Central Police Station to check for unauthorized connections and to collect unpaid bills from consumers, they learned of the station's power theft.

In an effort to raise money, the Electricity Company of Ghana declared about a month ago that it will start a huge disconnection exercise on March 20.

From September 2022 to February 2023, the corporation owed more than GH5 billion, according to the managing director, Mr. Samuel Dubik Mahama, Esq.

According to ECG, it has already received more than GHC 2 billion of the total.

However, Mr. Samuel Dubik Mahama announced on Kumasi's Sompa FM that the Ghana Police Service had also added their name to the list of clients who were involved in power theft or illicit connections.Mr. Samuel Dubik Mahama further disclosed that a bulk metering system would be given to the Ghana Police Service in order to prevent power theft by that organization.

We'll also guarantee that their metering is comparable to that of the Ghanaian Armed Forces. Now that we have handed the Ghanaian Armed Forces a bulk meter, anything that happens there is completely out of our hands. All that is required of us at this point is the bulk sum on which we have an agreement with them. I believe it's time to extend the same courtesy to the Ghana Police. According to Mr. Samuel Dubik Mahama, Sompa FM.
