To Celebrate 40 Years in Music, Tahoe Sisters

The Tagoe Sisters are celebrating 40 years in music.

The well-known Ghanaian gospel music trio Tagoe Sisters will perform a series of live musical concerts in Accra and Kumasi in September and October to mark their 40th anniversary in the gospel music business.

On April 13, 2023, the gospel musicians made this announcement at a press conference held at the Silicon Production House in Accra.Madam Joyce Aryee served as the event's chair.

Rev. Yawson, Cindy Thompson, Ophelia Nyantakyi, Mary Ghansah, Perez Music, Piesie Esther, and a host of other personalities attended the launch.

The inaugural performance, dubbed "Tagoe Sisters @40," will take place at the Grand Arena of the Accra International Conference Centre (AICC) on September 23, 2023.

the 40th anniversary dinner night at the Kempinski Hotel, followed by fundraising.

The same events, including a performance on October 2, 2023, and a fundraiser banquet on October 23, 2023, will also take place in the Ashanti Region.

In order to interact and personally invite them to grace both occasions, the Tagoe Sisters and their management team are expected to pay a courtesy call on President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, former Presidents John Dramani Mahama and John Agyekum Kufuor, the Chairman of the Council of State, Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, among others.

As part of their social obligations, they would donate to a few chosen orphanage houses in Accra and Kumasi.

The twins, whose real names are Lydia Dedei Yawson, nee Tagoe, and Elizabeth KorkoiTagoe, have performed as the Tagoe Sisters in the evangelical music sector since 1983.

Popular songs by them include "YediNkunim," "Fa Bibiara Mano," "MenyaYesu," "Akamafo Jesus," "Orekyikye," and many others.
