Wearing tight costumes validated my decision to leave church - Kwabena Kwabena

Kwabena Kwabena, a renowned Ghanaian hiplife musician, has revealed that one of the reasons he ceased attending church is the inability of pastors to reprimand women who wear inappropriate attire to church.

Recently, in an interview with adomfmonline.com, the Aso hitmaker stated that women should not wear garments that cling to their buttocks to church.

"Let me tell you something, even if you own tight-fitting garments, you do not wear them to church. There are places where you can wear those dresses, but when you go to the house of God, you should have a purpose, and please, we must all begin to conduct in a certain manner...

"I find it regrettable that no pastor has spoken out against it until now. What has become of the temple of God? He is quoted as saying, "This has confirmed why I have no desire to step foot inside a church."

Among the many reasons he gave for leaving the church, he cited the "inappropriate behavior" of gospel musicians who prioritise money by engaging in impure practices to promote their works.

"Money is merely a consequence of inventiveness. Due to material things, it is important that we focus on money in the modern world, but I can confidently state that we focus so much on money that we are losing our craft.

"Recently, I witnessed a practice that gospel musicians have adopted, and it saddens me. It's quite depressing... "Because I compose gospel music and I know what gospel music is supposed to do, I've become very saddened by the fact that gospel musicians have begun touring for worldly things," he said.
