South Dayi Member of Parliament Rockson-Nelson Etse Kwami Dafeamekpor

A number of government officials are publishing a video of an opposition member of parliament bragging about the infrastructure work he has performed in his constituency.

Rockson Nelson-Dafeamekpor's nearly 8-minute speech on Joy News earlier this week has garnered praise from New Patriotic Party (NPP) activists who are impressed by his candor regarding how his South Dayi constituency is benefiting from government initiatives.

In his introduction, the representative states, "South Dayi, although I am an opposition member of a government to which I do not belong, I have lobbied for many things for my district."

His constituents have benefited from a number of government initiatives in the areas of education and health, including a number of GETFund projects for Senior High Schools and an Agenda 111 project in his constituency.

In response to the video posted on Facebook, a member of the presidential staff, Dennis Miracles Aboagye, wrote, "This is how the testimonies will emerge as we enter the election period.

The story of Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia will be told constituency by constituency.

"Observe as my Senior Brother, the Honorable Dafeamekpor, NDC Member of Parliament for South Dayi, lists the numerous initiatives the government has delivered to the residents of South Dayi. This is the utilization of the resources (revenue/loans). We will slowly but inexorably rise.

Richard Ahiagbah, director of communications for the New Patriotic Party, also tweeted the video with the following caption: "The NDC likes to inquire what the government has done with the money and resources it has at its disposal. However, the Honorable Deafeamekpor has every answer... The NDC is aware that the funds were invested.
