It shows the lack of understanding of the need to make the right choices for the betterment of the nation and how tribalistic and uninformed the educated in Ghana are when it comes to voting for growth and policy instead of persons from our regions and villages.

I was having a casual conversation with a medical doctor from Ghana, an Akan for that matter, and precisely a Fante.
Politics came in and she said “The NDC should bring another person, for me, I will never vote For Mahama”
I smiled and asked why, her reason was that John Made nurses worked for a year and only paid them for 3 months.
I said fair enough, what has been the output of Akufo Addo in almost 8 years because the last time I checked, John Mahama was only President for 4 years.
I asked why should the NDC bring in a new person when John Mahama is the ideal candidate for the time being.
She asked what can Mahama do in 4 years.
I asked what has Akufo Addo done in 6 years and counting.
She could not answer, I asked again, who in the NDC does she think should be presented aside from Mahama?
She answered, “For me, I have never voted for NDC and I will never vote for them, I just don’t like Mahama”
I said oh, so you saying the NDC should bring a new person have no basis but your personal dislike of John Mahama?
I urged her to vote for the NPP if she feels they are a better choice, for I do not even live in Ghana and wouldn’t have cared that much if she goes ahead to cast her vote for the NPP, she will have to live with the consequences.
So you see, her reason for asking the NDC not to bring Mahama has never been because of his output when he was a President but due to a hidden personal vendetta she holds against him.
Then she asked if I can work things out for her to be posted to a hospital within Accra because where she works now is far from Accra where she lives with her husband and that is affecting her marriage.
I asked would you love to work at Ridge, UGMC, the Bank Hospital or Maritime Hospital.
She responded absolutely, I said ok, are you aware the John Mahama you said you will never vote for built all the aforementioned hospitals you want me to help you go work at?
She smiled saying, “But he used our taxes”
I asked her to wait for Akufo Addo to also use her taxes to build new hospitals in Accra so she could be posted there to work to be closer to her family.
We have a lot more such people in the system.
As highly educated as they seem to be, they simply can’t move away from their idiocy and tribal orientation.
They have nothing to hold onto as to why they cast their votes for NPP, it has always been, I was born into NPP so even if animals are those leading his or her generation of the NPP, they would not have cared much.
For the many enlightened, the above person should motivate you to leave whatever you have to do on Election Day in 2024 to make sure you vote for the NDC, you skipping that crucial election will mean born fools will end up electing a leader in the image of Akufo Addo for you again.
