A 51-year-old cabbage vendor was killed when a secondhand clothing trailer vehicle collided with pedestrians at Dr. Mensah Market near Kejetia in the Kumasi Metropolitan Area of the Ashanti Region.
The truck, whose brakes reportedly failed, also collided with a halted taxicab before running over the woman selling on the side of the road.
Following the horrific accident, the body of the deceased, identified as Akua Serwaa, was mutilated by the vehicle.
In an interview with OTEC News reporter Jacob Agyenim Boateng, an eyewitness stated that the accident occurred on Thursday, May 4, 2023, after a vehicle with the registration number GT 7452-11 lost control and collided with local vendors.
According to information obtained, the deceased was a resident of Antoa in the Kwabre East District who typically sold cabbage at Dr. Mensah Market.
The deceased's mutilated corpse has been placed in the morgue at Okomfo Anokye Teaching Hospital.
