Professional Ghanaian dancer and percussionist Samuel M. Marquaye a.k.a. Bukom Mama has charged Ghana education service (GES) to bring back extra curricular activities that involves Art, cultural dance and drumming.

According to him, some students will be deprived of a very successful career path if these activities are not brought back in grooming and shaping students on the importance of African traditional dance and art.

Unlike Him who has traveled across the world performing to great audience and dignitaries, he shares some benefit individuals can derive if one takes traditional dancing serious, making those revelations on La Tv, a digital Ghanaian television station in Accra.

“Gone were the days where dancers were regarded as misfits and lazy but today some are doing so well locally and internationally we as Ghanaians cannot do away with it so it’s about time we embrace and and teach these kids righ from the basic level. I’m pleading with GES to bring back cultural dance and art for it will go a long way bringing investment to support our economy in the future”, he said.
