Ghana Education Service (GES) has debunked claims by some social media users that it has proposed a uniform for teachers in public schools.
In an interview with media, Director-General of the Ghana Education Service (GES) Prof. Opoku Amankwah emphasized that the Service has never proposed any attire or unform for public basic school teachers.
Prof. Opoku Amankwah described such claims as mere fallacies by some faceless people.
He added GES does not make such proposals on social media hence teachers and Ghanaians should disregard them.
Prof. Opoku Amankwah again reiterated the supposed GES uniforms trending on social media are not from Ghana Education Service neither are they Ghanaian teachers. He added any public basic school whose teachers have been introduced to such uniforms should come out to prove it.
He therefore cautioned teachers and the general public to disregard any unconfirmed information by some social media users. Teachers are to confirm such information from the GES before believing and circulating it.

Some believe if the GES introduces uniforms for teachers it will help identify those licensed and certified under GES.
