Two cousins, Damilola Famoriyo, a 34-year-old man and Akinbayo Abiodun, a 31-year-old man have been arrested by the Ogun State Police Command for robbery and for the death of a motorcyclist, Amos Chuckwuka in Ijebu-Ode area of the state. The Ogun State Police Command Spokesperson, Abimbola Oyeyemi, who confirmed the arrest of the two cousins revealed that the two suspects committed the crime on December 13, 2022, however, they were both arrested this month by the DPO Obalende division, SP Murphy Salami and his detectives, the Punch Newspapers reports.

However, while the suspects were paraded by Abimbola Oyeyemi, they confessed to the crime and narrated how they carried out the attack. According to them, on December 13, 2022, they lured the victim Amos Oyemechi Chuckwuka to carry their farm products from the Agoro area to the town, and they agreed on a price. But on getting to Agoro/Ikangba road, they stopped him and snatched the tricycle from him. It was when the deceased tried to struggle with them that they macheted him to death and dragged his corpse to the riverbank where they dumped him. "After we stabbed our victim to death with a machete, we dumped his corpse at Agoro river", they both said.

Nevertheless, the Commissioner of Police, Frank Mba, commended members of the public for assisting the police with useful information that led to the arrest of the suspects, he further vowed that the suspects would not go unpunished for their crimes.
