The highlight of Amerado's VGMA acceptance speech was when he thanked his close friend Deloris Frimpong Manso, also known as Delay, for promoting his 2022 single 'Obiaa Boa', the song that garnered him the nomination.
"One woman who strongly supported 'Obiaa Boa' is Deloris Frimpong Manso, God bless you," she said. "Thank you so much!" he exclaimed.
When rapper EL announced Amerado as the recipient of 'Best Rap Performance' at the 24th Ghana Music Awards, the entire audience applauded enthusiastically; for many, the victory was long overdue.
Amerado earned the title on his third nomination, having lost it to his peers in previous years. In his acceptance speech, he thanked several legendary Ghanaian vocalists for paving the way.
"Third time's the charm, and I've genuinely suffered for this title. This message is for all rappers out there: your aspirations are legitimate.
"Okyeame Kwame deserves credit for paving the path. I adore you so much, Sarkodie, Reggie Rockstone, Obrafour, Strongman, Frimpong, King Palutta, and every other Kumasi rapper out there," he said.
