A woman was reportedly killed, and 68 people, including the boat's operator, were rescued from the Bui River at Bongase in the Bono Region after the ferry boat they were on capsized.
A local search party in Bongase continues to scour the waters for the remaining victim.
Our news sources in the community report that on May 25 a local engine boat with 70 passengers, believed to be illicit miners from a galamsey base named Akufo-Addo and Alegele, was headed towards Bongase near Nsuano.
However, the boat was unable to reach its destination because it struck a reef and capsized with 70 passengers on board.
