Mahamudu Bawumia, has cautioned his supporters and spokespeople to refrain from insults and assaults during the campaign, insisting that the flagbearer race is merely a family affair.
He noted that stepping on the toes of others in order to score political points should never be a part of a campaign, particularly for those who support his candidacy, as it has no place in his character.
The Vice President who is vying for the position of flagbearer of the ruling New Patriotic Party(NPP) indicated that their political party's members are not the antagonist, but rather the opposition National Democratic Congress(NDC).
"I would like for everyone to comprehend that this campaign is for our internal election. The primary adversary is the NDC, so we must tread carefully in our campaigning. We desire an ethical campaign.
After this election, we intend to unite against the NDC. We are one family, and when the election is over, we will return as one family to prevent the NDC from gaining power. I urge my supporters and spokespeople to refrain from insults. During a meeting with party loyalists in Accra, he stated, "We need unity because that's what will help us beat the eight."
