Black Stars Lack Patience And Time - GFA Kart Okraku

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) president, Kurt Okraku, remains optimistic about the Black Stars' prospects of winning "big trophies" in the near future.

Despite recent tournament defeats, Okraku is confident that the team is headed in the right direction. The Black Stars were eliminated from both the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon and the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar in the group stage.

As he reflected on the team's past performances, Okraku acknowledged the team's shortcomings and emphasized the ongoing process of rebuilding and strengthening the squad.

"I believe that we are on track. The AFCON in Cameroon was a resounding failure. Africa could not have been conquered due to a paucity of personnel, organization, and mentality. He told SuperSport that this was the beginning of the process of building a formidable Ghanaian team.

"We initiated the process of team reconstruction by recruiting new members on all fronts. The team that represented Ghana at the AFCON and the team that is currently competing are obviously very different."

"The team did not advance past the group stage, Ghanaians were disappointed, and I can understand why, as we believe we must always be at the top, but that served as motivation to continue with the rebuilding strategy."

"We have an incredible group of athletes willing to lay down their lives and work their tails off for Mother Ghana. With the backing of the Football Association, the government, and the passion of the Ghanaian supporters, I believe the team is headed in the right direction.

"I believe that the large trophies that sitting presidents and Ghanaians have always desired will soon be on our shelves," stated Okraku with assurance.

When queried about the team's shortcomings, Okraku responded, "The team lacks patience and time."
