EGC representatives assert that money does not evaporate from meters; rather, you pay more as your usage increases.

Sometimes trees are heavy on the cables, networks are overloaded, transformers are being burned, and generators are unable to meet the amount of load required by customers; it could be anything."

About why the ECG, despite being a government institution, does not have a toll-free number.

In response Leila said;

"It's gradual, and we've received a request for a toll-free number for individuals who cannot access credit in the middle of the night.

Soon, the customer service department will implement a toll-free number.

Kwame Afari Cheku elaborated on matters pertaining to the ECG's neumeter.

"Neu is unquestionably not the only meter; we use a variety of meters and will not attribute the issue to the meter.

The issue could be with our general customer service, which we strive to improve daily."

Providing additional insight on prepayment credit issues, Mr.

Cheku said;

"Customers should be aware that with prepayments, invoicing is done in the meter, so it is their responsibility to load money into the meter as they use electricity, which is then deducted.

There is no possibility for money to disappear from the meter if electricity has not been used."

"Customers should be aware that our electricity rates are graduated tariff banks."

Moving from one bank to another necessitates an increase in fees as usage increases.
