The Member of Parliament (MP) for the Effiduase-Asokore Constituency praised vice President Bawumia for using "bad boy" tactics to win the New Patriotic Party several parliamentary seats in northern Ghana.
According to Dr. Nana Yaw Afriyie, the NPP won several northern seats for the first time in 2016 due to Dr. Bawumia's consistent labor in the region.
Dr. Bawumia's approach in 2016 was to relocate from the South to the North. "He stayed there and did all the infamous things that caused the NDC to lose a significant number of seats," the member of parliament recalled.
According to Dr. Afriyie, Dr. Bawumia returned in 2020 to increase "the notorious acts" in order for the NPP to win a large number of parliamentary seats.
Dr. Ayew Afriyie described the impact Dr. Bawumia has had on the NPP's parliamentary statistics from 2016 and 2020.
When he went there to do a decent job, however, the NDC's seats decreased to 15 and the NPP's increased to 16. He has reduced the number of NDC seats in Parliament from 2016 to 2020. The NDC's aspiration no longer includes the Walewale seat, but it once did. Since Walewale's appointment as running companion, the NPP has not lost that seat.
