Bright Ellis alias Shadow (L) was responsible for the death of Emmanuel Aikins aka Unruly Grank (R).

His Lordship presides over the Cape Coast High Court 'A'. Emmanuel Lodoh has sentenced the murderer of the renowned Cape Coast-based Dancehall musician "Unruly Grank," whose death occurred on February 7, 2021, to "hanging."

The sentence was pronounced on January 18, 2023, a Wednesday.

According to earlier reports, the assassin, Bright Ellis, also known as 'Shadow,' stabbed the aspiring Dancehall artist with a knife over an alleged music dispute.

At approximately 15:00 GMT, the murderer's dagger used to stab the musician Born Emmanuel Aikins, 24, was discovered at the Orange Beach Resort in Cape Coast, the regional capital of the Central region.

Kate Swanzy, the mother of the deceased, spoke to the media following the verdict and expressed her satisfaction with the verdict, advising Ghanaians to employ patience in matters pertaining to court trials so that accurate findings can be made.

As was the case with her son, she also expressed her comprehension of the concept of granting an accused person bail, which she had previously believed implied the person's freedom.

She also expressed appreciation to Vincent Nyenaku, the representative of the Attorney General, for his unwavering cooperation throughout the entire hearing.

According to Madam Swanzy, the verdict will allow the mother of his son's murderer to experience the pain she felt during the early phases of his death.

The deceased's uncle, Papa Kojo Swanzy, expressed his satisfaction with the verdict and thanks the judge who presided over the two-year-long case with unwavering sincerity.

He also cautioned the youth to be exceedingly wary of acts of violence and murder, stating that the law is always ready to catch up with them.
