Fans Lashes Out Sarkodie And Gyakie For Alledgely Cancelling Their Abroad Concerts After Low Patronage
Due to minimal attendance, Sarkodie, the most popular rapper in Ghana, canceled his JAMZ tour in Europe.
Likewise, the singer Gyakie canceled her performances in the United Kingdom and France due to health concerns.
Alordia, a music and event promoter based in the United Kingdom, has revealed that low attendance was the real cause for the cancellation of these shows.
In a Twitter conversation with Joy Entertainment's Kwame Dadzie, Alordia revealed that the promoters coordinating these tours for the aforementioned artists have little to no knowledge of the Ghanaian community abroad.
He added that the majority of these performers are unwilling to reach out to professionals such as himself for assistance with promoting their shows. As a consequence, their performances are attended by a small audience.
He added that Ghanaian artists will continue to experience low ticket sales if they do not consult with experts for their promotions.
In response, some individuals criticized the artists for neglecting their domestic followers in favor of international ones.
One fan went so far as to say that instead of establishing a solid fan base in Ghana to promote their art, they squander their time and resources on an imaginary audience abroad.
